Trend Watch: What’s Hot for 2021 Weddings

We’re nearing the end of the “Love in the time of COVID” era, but that hasn’t stopped new and stylish wedding trends from launching. Here’s the top five things our brides are telling they are planning:

#1 — Mini cakes and hors d’oeuvres — Intimate weddings are probably here to stay, at least for a while, so brides are downsizing and making treats in single-serving or individual portions.

#2 — Tiny toasts — What’s a wedding without a round of toasts? Well, get ready for everyone toasting the bride and groom with a brief (and we mean 60 second or less) memory or wish for the couple.

#3 — Weekday weddings — June brides evolved into fall brides. Now weekend brides are turning into working day brides. With vendor availability tight on weekends, couples are turning to weekdays for nuptials.

#4 — Green weddings — we don’t mean the bridal gown, but a more sustainable and environmentally friendly ceremony. Digital invitations are becoming the norm along with recycling bins and vegan-friendly fare.

#5 — Sequel weddings — Just like in Hollywood, if you liked it the first time, you’ll love it the second. Many couples are planning larger events after having a courthouse or backyard wedding.
